"Every one is born with a mind but it is only through introspection, observation, connecting the head and the heart, making meaning of experience and finding an organizing purpose that you build a unique individual self."*
Do you agree? I attempt to practice and include all of the above in my life but I have to realize that I can't do these and everything else that I want to do. Letting go in order to have time for these essentials is hard and I'm not always successful. Do you make time to practice and include these suggestions? What gets in your way?
Let me know in the comment section or reply to this email. Thanks in advance for your response. I learn from you.

Hi, Nicky-
ReplyDeleteLast night I was reading up on environmental activist activities and thinking...so much so that it was challenging to get to sleep!
Then this morning I opened this Exploring the Mystery email from you. When I read the quote, the bit about "connecting head to heart" jumped out at me. It occurs to me that that is what our country is trying to do now...move out of the adolescent stage of endless energy where head and heart are not well connected yet and come to grips with the now more obviously limited energy resources of the material world while connecting head and heart in every area of human life.
I am hoping we manage to do this with grace and some speed!
Thanks for the comment - I hope your wish comes true - sooner rather than later!
ReplyDeleteLots to ponder on this quote. Never sure about everyone needing an organizing purpose, or what that really means. Always felt that Mom was as close to being self actualized as anyone I knew, never sure if she had that organizing purpose.
ReplyDeleteSlowing down to work on those things seems counterintuitive to me because you need those activities to muse about.
Do you think that organizing purpose is referring to goals?
